Solid as a rock: this how we have to be. The only way is to be built on the rock. The Word is Christ, and He is the rock.
“Why do you call me Lord, Lord, if you don’t do what He says?” Many come to Jesus, but they do what they want with only the things He says that they like. We are all supposed to build but upon HIM! Not build with a bunch of stuff in between. He says: “Dig down and find that rock!”…But most of the time we have to keep digging between the mixture to find a little rock, which is not even Christ – the Word of God. To find the sure foundation, you must dig past man’s ideas, theories, genealogies, and all the religious roots.
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.” Ephesians 2:19-20
Lay the foundation upon the rock because the storm is coming. Before He splits the sky, there will be the biggest global storm the world has ever seen. We need to be ready and be on the rock, or we will be shaken. You can go to the church, for instance, called “cornerstone,” but if it is not the real foundation, it is filled with man’s ideas and dead works. There is no solid foundation. It will surely fall. If God is raising the volume of the voice of His messengers, there is a reason. The time is short!
The pastoral churches are not founded upon the rock. We need to hear His sayings and do His sayings. We need to hear the Word that comes out of His mouth. This is why Jesus puts His messengers in position. The reason is because God is a God of order. He set the entire universe in order. By Him all things were made that were made. Anything built on man’s ideas or on denominations will fall.
A wise man builds his house upon the Word of God. A foolish man builds upon his own opinion. We cannot afford not to be upon the rock! If you can’t stand when little storms hit you, surely you won’t be able to stand when the big storm hits the Earth.
You need to stand upon Him. Your identity is not on you, what you do or say, but in Christ. People are building churches upon worship, or prayer movements, or evangelism, personal prophecies or supernatural events, or works of justice. But none of that is the right foundation, but CHRIST, in His fullness, is. He is the foundation of HIS OWN CHURCH! All of these are to enhance the Word (the rock), but the foundation must be sure.
We need to know the Word, and the Word needs to know us, or we will become like the Pharisees and Sadducees that ignored the foundation – the cornerstone. They identified themselves with a man but hated His Words – the words of life. Religious people hate the same Words of life today.
People buy land by what it looks like. It looks good from a carnal perspective. It has nice trees, pretty flowers, lots of space, and a great view. They bought it in the dry season, but then it began to rain a little rain, and it becomes swampland. During raining seasons, they will be in trouble because they built upon sand and mud. The foundation has to be way down deep. The foundation was there even before the beginning of time. Before day one was zero; that is where He started, Ground Zero, and that was what God created.
You never build in the middle. You start on the corner. If you don’t start with Jesus, it won’t work. He is the chief stone. The cornerstone! How can a church survive if He is not there? How will we survive if we are building on man’s foundation?
God will not build anything upon man’s foundation. He can’t. He won’t. The apostles get the blueprint of HOW TO DO IT. The church is built upon that foundation – the foundation of the apostle and prophets – because God gives them the plans straight from Himself. That’s why man shuts down the authentic prophet and apostles because they are carnal, but you can discern the false. They lie to you, telling you that Paul was the last apostle. That is one of Satan’s biggest lies. How can that be true if God said that in the last day there shall be false apostles? If there is false, there is also true. If Paul was the last apostle, why would God warn us to stay away from the false? (Matthew 24:10-12)
So God sets forerunners apart for the restoring of the broken down gates. A church without protection is a church without a solid foundation. It is like untempered mortar. Have you seen those hut houses or mud houses in Africa? Most houses (churches) are not tempered mortar, just dirt, wood, and stubble! Our souls can’t hold it all together. The Holy Spirit has to. He is the one that holds it all together. A tempered mortar is hard; it is sound and strong. It is stuffed with the bonding in the cement that binds it all.
Apostles and prophets are in the business of building His church. Satan made many to believe that they are all gone. Dead. In doing so, disorder entered in. But they are all over. God’s plan never changed. The blueprint was given to these specific men to build the church on the Word.
If God has not called you to build anything, you do not have the right to build anything. Your passion, your titles, your ordination and certificates from theology school make you a fool if you move in the flesh and do not give you the right to do so. God wants us all to be back on the rock. Let every man make sure that you build right and upon Him, Paul said.
So what we have is building materials that are man made and recycled, plastics, Styrofoam, and man made materials. But God tells us what to use and how to use it, just like He told Noah exactly how to build the ark. Apostles are God’s engineers. He (GOD) is the master builder. Many labor in vain.
People that are worship centered should use worship to enhance the rock (word), to get us back to the rock. Worship helps us to stay in the rock (word). Prayer focused helps us to get to hear Him and stay on the rock. Evangelism is about getting people on the rock. See? It is all about the Rock (the Word).
If any man builds upon gold, silver, precious stones, hay, or stubble – these all shall be manifested! People say, “That is not a big deal. That is just a little thing.” But when you put all the “little” deals together then that becomes a “big” deal. No. We can’t enjoy a man’s foundation because the door will not be shut. The God of love told Noah, “When the door is shut, open it for nothing.” It is important to preserve what God is building. God will make it clear and plain. He will expose this kind of foundation. He is exposing every other foundation. He is shaking all. If it is not on the rock, you will fall. That is why apostles and prophets pluck up and clear away the ground and all dirt to lay a sure foundation. That is why they must be totally set apart. These mainstream apostolic networks today have so much mixture. They have never removed it, so they become false and unstable. Surely they will fall.
Trust. Obey. Follow. These are simple instructions. If you live by Baal, you will die by him. If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword. If you build a wrong foundation, you will be crushed by it because it will fall. Jesus is a serious preacher.
Don’t let any man deceive you with their wrong foundation. Let the fire burn. Let Him crush anything that was not built by Him. Lose your life now, or you will lose it later. Satan is into legalism. He will use the Word of God to condemn you all the time or to “help” you build something with the wrong foundation. He is the prosecutor. He will come after you even if you decide to obey His blueprint. He will turn on you, using your wrong ideas and man’s interpretations, and he will condemn you with the same Word that should give you life.
Moses went to the rock to get the water! Go to the rock, and I will put water in it! Go back to that rock: CHRIST! That is where your living water comes from: the Word (rock).
If you are not on the rock, what makes you different from people that ran the temple back then? Any difference? No. Whoever despises that rock is saying to Jesus: “Shut up, Jesus, we got this.” Paul, the apostle, called Jesus the builder and the cornerstone. He got revelation straight from Him. Peter did the same. Don’t build anything upon any man’s revelation but upon the revelation given by Him. This is why Jesus says fall on the rock (Matthew 21:44), build on the rock, or be crushed by the rock. If you don’t build on the rock (Word), you will be condemned by the Word and crushed by the Word. We must live by His sword. Let His sword kill all of man’s agendas.
There was a foundation even before any foundation. In the beginning, there was the foundation: the Word. Jesus spoke it, and it was created! The foundation for His church was ready even before anything else. We can’t know Him without knowing the Word because He is the Word. How can you love somebody without knowing that person? The same happens with the Word. If you get mad at the Word, you don’t love the Word, you don’t love Him. Take heed of the leaven that is put in the bread. Take heed of the mixture that is put on the foundation. Take heed of what they added to the Word. When it was time for Jesus to go, Peter was not saying the word of God back to the Word of God. He did not want Jesus to be crucified, but that was his carnality. “Get behind me, Satan.” But Peter later went back to the foundation. He was stabled and solid as well. If we don’t know the Word, we cannot speak the Word to the Word, and anything that comes out of our mouths will fall to the ground and produce nothing.
If you have been with the Word of God long enough, you would have known what Jesus really looks like and how the foundation should be. If any other thing is in the way, you must remove it.
Peter is called Cephas – the rock - but he is not the one we build upon. Upon the revelation of who Christ is: that is the right revelation. We build on the revelation of the Word only. Anything built upon a man is a harlot. Anything built upon Jesus is the church, the Bride. Only those who are built upon the right foundation, whatsoever they loose is loosed in heaven; whatsoever they bind, it is bound in heaven. To only those, the keys of the Kingdom were given. To only those, the door of hell will not prevail. These apostolic keys of authority are only for those who live on the rock – a fastened and sure foundation. Let us allow God and His apostle and prophets to remove all that is between you and the rock!
