Do you have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying? What do you want to hear? Do you want to hear truth? Or encouragement? Do you want to hear truth? Or a fantasy? Do you want to hear truth or pretend truth? It’s either truth or lies. Lies are how we spiritually die. Truth sets us free. Lies bind us, truth frees us. The world says the truth hurts but the Kingdom says it sets you free. We get afraid because of our experience with the truth in the past, but if we loved the truth, when we receive the truth, it will be a different feeling. Yet we cannot rely on feeling. We have to rely on our love and zeal for the truth. Are you hungry for truth or are you hungry for affirmation? We need to build up one another in truth. Truth is love. This is how we really build up one another in love. The truth sets us free, that's love. Love wants to set you free. Why am I your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Yet I should be your best friend if I tell the truth because truth is the way of freedom and it brings the anointing that breaks the yoke.
We need to get rid of our religious mindset about the truth and how much it hurts and how we shouldn’t go too deep into it because it offends this sensitive generation. This generation has taught you the truth is offensive. This generation teaches you that if you hear the truth you will live in misery and depression. No, you need to hear the truth to get out of misery and depression! I’m talking about all truth necessary for your life and godliness. Some will stop eating truth to a certain level. When the truth goes deep, the shallow ones run away. People say, “Well, I’m not ready to hear that yet. I’m not ready for that level of truth.” So you’re not ready to be FREE?! The more we stand on truth, the more we stand on freedom. The truth is the key to freedom. The truth sets me free. The more I walk in truth, the more I walk in freedom. People are chasing after freedom but they should be chasing after truth and then freedom will come. Some see half-truth and this is why they feel half free and half bound. A life full of truth is a life full of freedom. Parts of our life that are bound are not sound, are not in sound doctrine. What is sound doctrine? “Oh, that sounds like the truth.” “That sounds like the word, that sounds like what Jesus would say.” We need Jesus to bring sound truth to every part of our life, that we would not be bound in any part of our life.
You need the truth to be set free. The truth sets us free and free indeed. The son sets us free but He is here to set us free by the truth because, for this reason, He came to bear witness of the truth, not just the truth about what He did 2000 years ago but all truth of life and godliness. All forms of unadulterated truth are revealed by Him because He is the Spirit of Truth. We need to know the truth about God, His Kingdom, ourselves, and everything else that pertains to life and godliness for us and our neighbor.
If we don’t know the truth about what’s going on inside of ourselves, good, bad, or ugly, we will never be delivered and we will never be free. Some of us have need of so much deliverance but because we choose to pretend to see something else, pretend all is good, we still stay bound deep down inside. We need to come to grips with ourselves and grip the truth, knowing that our freedom is on the other side of truth.
Stop looking at the sword of truth with a mindset of pain. Look at the sword of truth with the mindset of freedom! If we let the sword do its surgery and cut out the cancer in us quickly, we will feel free quickly, not even realizing we went through deliverance. Yet when we resist the sword, when we resist the truth, it’s painful. The truth only hurts because it is hurting our pride. The truth only hurts when you don’t want to hear it. The truth only hurts when you resist it. This is why when they do surgery in hospitals, they put the patient to sleep. Yet someone who resists the truth is like a patient that is getting surgery while awake and moves around a lot. Because they move around it gives the surgeon a hard time removing the cancer which causes more unnecessary pain to the patient.
Is it the surgeon's fault? Is it the sword or the scalpel's fault? No. It's the patient, it's us! We need to stop resisting the truth. We are only resisting the truth because we don’t love the truth. A strong delusion will come upon those that LOVE NOT the truth. Did it say those that receive not the truth? No, it said those that don’t LOVE it! We need to change our taste, we need to change what we love. We cannot love our own form or carnal perception of truth. Those that have an ear to hear what thus saith the spirit of truth, have an ear!
Many are eating His flesh but they are eating with a bitter heart. We need to love what He loves and hate what he hates. We cannot just receive and eat the truth just because it’s the right thing to do or just because the Bible says to. We need a heart change! We need to love it! Want it! He said He would write His word on our hearts. Yet because we keep resisting His words, He cannot write His word on our hearts and make it flesh in us. What do you want to hear? That's what you love! He is the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. He is the word made flesh. If we don’t like the word, if we don’t like the truth, then we don’t like Him! The word WAS God and is still His flesh.
When we reject the truth of the word, we reject Him. Many serve Him in name but deny Him in Spirit and in TRUTH! Many receive Him in name but deny Him in word and in deed. Why are our lips close but our hearts far from Him? Because we love His name, we love His miracles, signs, and wonders, we love manifestation, but we don’t love truth! When He did miracles, everybody loved to be around Him, but when He spoke truth, John 6:66, “and many of His disciples left Him.”
He said if they hate you, they hated me first. The world doesn't hate Jesus just because He is Jesus. They hate Him because of His words. He said, “The world hates me because I tell them their deeds are bad.” If Jesus just did miracles and wonders everybody would love Him, but because of truth, many do not love Him or they just man please Him and kiss Him on the cheek with their lips, but with their heart, they betray Him and deny Him before men. That's why He said the true worshipers will come who will serve Me in the true way! In spirit and in TRUTH. The Spirit itself is the Spirit of all truth. He said I will send you the helper, the Holy Spirit, who will lead you unto all truth. If we can’t receive the truth, we can’t fully capture the full fellowship of the Holy Spirit because He has come to bear witness of the truth that we would become one with the truth. Now we are called to be one with the truth and bear witness of the truth.
For this reason, even Jesus came to bear witness to the truth, John18:37, that the world would not make up its own truth, that God would establish the truth as truth and anything else a lie. We need to love the truth to love Him. He said, “If you love me then you will obey me.” Obey what? My commands, my truth. The truth is all the eyes of God see. If you are offended by what you see, offended by the truth, then you need to pluck your eye out that your whole body would not be cast away! You need to get new eyes! You need to do what revelation says and get eye solvent for your eyes.
Yet if we start to see the truth and love it, and see the lies and hate them, we will be accepted in the beloved. We need to stop asking God to just help us endure and get through and by. We need to ask God to clean our ears and help us love the truth again when we hear it. We need to ask for a heart change. A taste bud change. We need to ask Him to get the sugar out of our ears or else we will savor the things that ate of men. Why would Jesus say but if the salt loses its savor? How would we, salt of the earth, ever lose its savor? Because the people on earth are savoring something else and having itching ears. They make for themselves teachers according to their own lusts! If they trample upon you, remember that Peter savored the things of man. He trampled upon the cross. We need to savor the truth. We need to love its taste and the sound in our ears or else we will trample on it. The Truth is freedom. The Truth is a laxative to our spiritual constipation.
We cannot obey the truth without loving the truth. We cannot obey two masters. We will either love the one or hate the other. We need to love what He loves and hate what he hates. This is very important and essential to our deliverance, to our walk in holiness and righteousness. You may have such a strong desire to walk holy, but if you don't love what is holy and hate what is profane, you will struggle, and what you love the most, in the end, will win. He said if you don't hate father, mother, brother, sister, and forsake all for my name, you cannot be my disciple.
He is not saying hate as in evil but hate as in serving and idolizing the things we love so much. We need to love Him more than those things and let those things lose their tie to our souls. That our soul would be free to be His and only His. Some only want to hear a certain level of truth before it’s too much for them and some don’t want to hear it at all. If it touches their lusts and passions, they run away. We need to stop running away from truth and start running to truth because in it we are actually running to freedom. Everybody loves to hear the truth about everybody else and everything else except themselves. What do your ears want to hear? That is your master! What do you have taste for? The salted chunks of meat from heaven or the artificial flavoring of men? Our ears have taste and we need to change that taste or else the day of the Lord will come upon us with haste.
Just like how they took a sponge and soaked it in vinegar and put it on a reed for Him to drink, we need to ask God to do the same to us. Vinegar spoils your taste buds that you would no longer taste for what is sweet. That we would no longer savor the things of men. And when we are on that cross facing the death of our flesh, we need to ask God to change our taste right there with the vinegar that we would not look for something sweet to help us on the cross, to give place for the flesh. That we would endure so that we can finish the work, and as He gave up His Spirit from that body, our spirit will be free from our flesh as it is finished and the flesh is dead. Father, remove all itching ears and change the taste of our ears to the taste for truth.
