DANGEROUS TIMES

The last days are not going to manifest when you think they are. They said that over 2,000 years ago. Timothy was facing so much opposition. Look at Paul speaking to his son in the faith, Timothy, about how people and civilization will become so immoral and dark. Just think about it: this was a very long time ago. But now we are in the perilous time. The word perilous means dangerous. The last day’s warning can be for something about today or tomorrow or years to come. The most important thing is that you be aware of the danger. Perilous times are here for sure. Read the book of 2 Timothy, chapter 3. Paul was exposing the signs of this perilous time back then, but it is here now. “For men shall be lovers of their own selves”…See around us how self-centered the world has become. It is all about themselves, what people want to do and be. Lot was vexed day to day by what was going on around him (2 Peter 2:7-8). Vexed with the filthiness of this world, by their unlawful deeds. Many people in the church are ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the Truth, having a form of godliness, but denying the cross, the power, and the Truth (verses 2-7). During these times, what we basically must do is to do the opposite thing that Paul is warning us that the people will be doing and turn away from those who do it. Be the opposite of what Paul was saying that mankind would become in the last days.

Let’s break it down. Truce breakers: one who violates a truce, covenant, or engagement. Fierce: having intense and ferocious aggressiveness. People are standing for something that God is against. Imagine when it becomes illegal to be who you are right now, and fierce people come after you? We want to be some fierce people for Jesus’ sake. We need to tap into the power and love of God and learn how to reach people during these perilous times!

Many are like Jannes and Jambres. They are resisting the Truth (verse 8). The Truth is the Truth and never will change as time goes by. Men of corrupt minds and reprobate concerning the faith. That means that something has changed! And their folly is being manifested unto all men! We must remember we are called to live godly in Christ Jesus. For this reason, we SHALL SUFFER PERSECUTION (verses 10-12). If we are not partaking of the things that the world is offering and are not contaminated by it, we will suffer persecution! Truce breakers will come after you! Nations against nations and worldly people against the saints. It is inevitable! We do not partake in breaking covenant with the Truth, with anything that is ungodly, anything that has a form of God but denies its power. All those things talked about in that chapter (2 Timothy 3), who wants to be around that anyhow? Lot was in Sodom and Gomorrah but he was a righteous man in the land. He did not agree with it. He was vexed day to day, but he was not corrupted by it! We should thank God for not being deceived or deceiving (verse 13). People that are deceived cannot receive from people that are not deceived because of pride. Deception’s birthing ground is pride. It births false christs, false ways, and false voices. To know you are not deceived is to know Him and to know the power to become as He is.

Paul was encouraging Timothy to continue in the things we have learned concerning faith and Truth, concerning the holy scriptures that are able to make us wise unto salvation (verses 14-17). People are changing their minds concerning the Word as time passes by. That is where we are right now! But we will continue in what we have learned and believed! God is equipping us for these last days, to stand strong! Be happy that you are being attacked and not being taken over by the devil! If you are being attacked, that means a force is working against you from the outside in. If you are being deceived, possessed, or used by the antichrist spirit, you are being taken over from within. Eventually, all mankind will be possessed or taken over by a spirit. This is the war: kingdom against kingdom, darkness against light, good against evil. We will become one with either: the spirit of this age or the Spirit of God. There will be no middle place like we are seeing now. Rejoice that you are being attacked and not taken over.

Perilous times makes me think about the book of Jude 7-21! Many despising authorities! Speaking evil of the Truth, speaking evil of the Church of Christ, speaking evil things of the Holy Spirit because they don’t know thereof. Be conscious of not doing what a reprobate mind is doing. We must NOT be a renegade for the sake of Christ! Korah resisted authority (Numbers 16:1-40). He spoke against Moses, he spoke against dignity. “Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:12. Murmurers, complainers, with their mouths filled with swelling words. People are building their truth up. Whatever is not the Truth, run away from it. Whatever is Truth, stand by it. Don’t be a man-pleaser to a man that rejects the Truth but pleases their own lusts. Filthy dreamers are not about people that have perverted dreams only but who dream dreams filled with the lust of their own belly. Everybody is led by a spirit; which spirit are you led by?

Beloved, remember the Word spoken by other apostles and prophets that came before us. So, let’s walk according to 2 Timothy 2:19-26. Timothy, this is what God wants us to live and look like! Let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity (verse 19). It takes power to live in the world and overcome it! Let yourself be like that rod that Moses held up in the hands of God. More signs and wonders will be manifested because he said that the latter rain shall be greater, and the glory of the latter house shall be much greater. The Word of God will be in our belly and will come out like fire in our belly, and people will have their hearts burning because of the Word that they will be speaking! Be sanctified as a vessel (verse 21). Purge yourself from all impurity! Resist what you see. Flee from youthful desire.

But do not be disturbed in your heart. Here is help. I believe that Jesus told the disciples how they could do all of this. Through the Helper. He said, “But the Helper, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you,” John 14:26. The promise for us was the helper! The helper helps. We can’t do it alone. God, gives us the Helper.

“Helper, we need your help. We want your help. We want to finish the race. During this perilous time, we need the help of the Helper, which is you, Holy Spirit. Father, we thank you for everything Paul released to Timothy and we will follow his advice. We won’t be trucebreakers. We won’t do what many are doing during these last days. We won’t be covetous but givers. We won’t despise authority. We will do the opposite of what darkness is doing now because we are the light. Thank you, Father, because the power of the cross will be on us every day. Father, thank you that we are lovers of the cross. We take your yoke because it is easy and light. We will be standing during these dangerous times! It is only getting better for your people. Help us to remember the words of Truth and to do what Truth is telling us! Thank you for the Holy Spirit, our helper. You said He will bring to our remembrance all things that you have said to us. Thank you, Father, for sending us the Helper to help us during these perilous times! Amen!”
