From fully Marlene unto fully Christ - By Marlene Roessiger

 

I always see Jesus as this human being filled with superpowers to do everything right. I wish I was right.

 

Jesus, as fully man like you and me, could have used His power, as fully God, to make His life easy but He did not.

 

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men. “ Philippians 2:5-7 5

 

He made Himself of no power, human, like you and me and took the form of Marlene! My struggles, His struggles, my weakness, His weakness! Jesus, as fully man, had more in common with you and me then we could imagined! He was subjected to the same weakness...(Hebrews 5:2).

 

A lot in common yet I see a huge difference between Him and Myself? Why my superpowers called "anointing" can not do a thing for me when I need the most! What is it? Why I am so defeated by the very things that You overcame as a man? It is so frustrating!

 

" It was not My power! It was My obedience!" I heard His voice... "

 

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." Hebrews 5:8-9 " Though He was a son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered..."

 

Being obedient to the point of death! Learning obedience by the things He suffered! Being fully God, He could have used His superpowers to help Him out, as fully man, but He didn't... He chose not to. He became like me and as fully Marlene He had to learn to obey!

 

But not just obey when it is easy but all way to the point of death! That's how He overcame. Not through His superpowers but through His obedience! During His suffering, betrayal, temptations, He decided to obey the Father at all cost! He bled because of it and in this He was perfected! From the image of man unto the image of God in the flesh...

 

I see Him, fully man, telling me " I have compassion on you because I went through the same. But do it any how! The power will be only manifested after, and not before, your act of obedience. On that split second after the Father hears your yes, you will experience His power! You can't just sip from My cup of suffering! You must drink it all! Your obedience will cause you to go from death to His glorious resurrection! The same that happened to Me will happen to you: You will go from fully Marlene unto fully Christ!"...

 

What was once frustrating me now it is humbling me...Wow! From fully Marlene unto fully Christ! I really like that...Well, I just don’t like the “ learning obedience through what I suffered and being obedient unto death” part...Too radical. Too hard. Too truthful. And there isn’t any other, is there? Some are saying, Yes. But He says, No...

 

“ and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.” Hebrews 5:9

 

Being perfected by obedience,
